A job interview is one of the most vital and important opportunity for an applicant to open up and put his best foot forward. It is in job interviews that you can show your best side, your expertise and your well-being. Always put in mind that first impression do last, so do your best even during your initial interview.
The moment you present yourself to the recruitment officer in the workplace where you are applying for, you are already being rated. From the way you walk in the office, the way you greet the people in the front desk…whatever and however you do things will shape up the impression you can make to the call center you are applying for.
So, be prepared for this moment of truth. Here are some friendly tips:
- Always be prepared for any job interview. You should be prepared to answer all the questions that will be asked of you during the interview. Make an inventory of your strengths, weaknesses, qualifications and experiences. Having a full knowledge of these will help you sell yourself on the job you are applying for. Make sure you can project yourself well in the interview room.
- Research on the company. To know more about the company you are applying for will help you assess yourself as to how you can meet their expectations by aligning the company’s core values and ideology with yours. It will be then easy for you to make the recruitment realize what you can do for the company and how vital you may be in the future.
- Know your strengths and weaknesses. Your professional and personal qualities will be the interviewer’s basis as to hire you or not. Make sure you know how to project your strengths and provide a good explanation about your weaknesses that will channel things to your advantage.
- Practice the interview questions with a friend. Practice makes perfect, they say. And this will allow you to see the possible flaws or mistakes you might commit during the interview. Be attentive to corrections that your friend may give to prepare you for the actual interview.
During the job interview, keep in mind that:
- Keep a smiling face. A smiling face can make a great impression on your personality. Your smile suggests good and light mood not only for yourself but for the interviewer as well. Make it pleasant and sincere.
- Maintain an eye contact when answering job interview questions. This will project self-confidence and sincerity with the words you utter during the interview.
- Be positive during the interview. Talk positively. Use positive words during your conversation. Interviewers look for positive people for their company so work your way with this.
- Be enthusiastic. Show to the interviewer that you are indeed interested and enthusiastic with the job you are applying for.
- Relax and enjoy the interview. Learn from this experience and have fun with it. Be natural as you can be. Do not sound robotic with the way you answer the questions. Always have a free flow of thoughts and ideas and express yourself confidently.
- Dress up well. Use your best judgment upon choosing the clothes you will wear that day. Some would say that it is okay to just dress up casually but that is not always the case in all call centers. The way you present yourself will always add up to your value as an applicant and will leave the interviewers the impression that you should be taken seriously. Remember, you are taking their time to actually process your application, and there are a lot of applicants like you out there so the challenge here is that you should stand out.
Call centers may give you an impression that they are not as strict and as formal like other companies out there, but then the procedures of a job interview still applies. So give your best to get noticed and be professional as possibly as you can.
